Walthers Mainline 910-20410 HO Scale EMD GP9 Chop Nose NS 2002
USED
WalthersMainline Phase II Chopped Nose GP9 is a must-have model for your 1960s and later diesel roster! Outwardly similar to the earlier GP7, and sharing the same boxy, no frills body with its high, short hood, minor production changes in the number and placement of louvers on locomotives built from 1955 to 1957 resulted in what modelers and railfans refer to as “phase two” GP9s. In the 1960s, many roads began rebuilding their GP9s as an affordable alternative to new equipment, and many were refitted with chopped short hoods to improve forward visibility. Like it’s prototypes, many are still going strong today and the WalthersMainline Phase II GP9 with chopped nose is perfect power for any assignment
